GOOD DAY PHILADELPHIA  Veteran's Event Sept 10, 2010

On September 10 Fox Philly’s "Good Day" morning program will once again host a troop support event on Market street in front of the FOX 29 studios. They have asked Warriors' Watch to take part once again, and if you were not there last year you missed a great time.

Last year it was in November so this time it should be a little warmer at least. This is a troop-support mission as it is an event that directly benefits our nation's warriors.

As the date approaches we will set times and rally points

Sgt.Gentile has been active duty for the last 5 years.He's been deployed to various countries including Iraq for the last 8 months.

He will be finishing his 5 year contract at the end August.

Those of you who participated in our previous events will recall and will not forget the veterans who reside at and/or use the facility; many of them from wars half a century ago.  The smiles that were generated will not soon be forgotten by the staff, by you, by me.  

We will need volunteers for different tasks.  Approximately 200 residents/patients will be partaking of the event to include those that we served individually in their respective rooms.
We will also need supplies to feed approximately 200 residents/attendees plus WWR personnel in the form of:
hot dogs & hamburgers
respective buns
mustard & ketchup
potato salad and/or macaroni salad
heavy duty trash bags
beverages
WWR banner & stand

The Vet Center will supply paper goods, tables & chairs
Cheryl & I will supply the ice cream & cole slaw

Myself and the setup crew (TBD) will be at the center no later than 11:00 AM; residents need to be fed starting at noon.  We need someone to step up and RC the main rally point & others to set-up secondary points. Time your departures for the rally points accordingly.  Follow the KSU's as posted, when posted.
Let's come out and do what we do best and give these men & women a well deserved yet humble token of our appreciation.
Let's get it done!!!!
